One day we were shopping at the Outlets when we saw a purse with ruffles. Of course I look at the price and tell Katie that we could make one cheaper than that. So we did.
We came home and Katie went to work sketching out ideas. I had a few ideas (mainly in the idea of simplicity since she probably wanted this before it was time to go off to college. So this was our compromise.
It has an adjustable strap that we could tie to make it slightly shorter or longer. I also used a magnetic snap in this to help it stay closed since she will probably use it to go to dance class. It also could be a cute bag for an older kid with different fabrics. (I could not pull Katie away from the pink heart fabric at JoAnn's...)

ReplyDeleteI've been looking everywhere for a tutorial on a purse like this. I found a ruffle purse I love of Vera Bradleys called the Cha Cha purse but would really like to make one using my own fabric.
